Veteran Film Leader to Head Film Las Cruces

Film Las Cruces has announced the hiring of Amorette Jones, a longtime film industry executive, as the Director of the Las Cruces Film Office. Jones has previously served in leadership roles in prominent television and film networks, including Starz Entertainment and Artisan Entertainment. As a leading film industry marketing professional, she has been involved in hundreds of films including serving as the lead marketing

executive for the cultural phenomenon “Blair Witch Project.”

I look forward to leveraging my experience, network, and marketing expertise to further elevate the city’s reputation in the film industry.”

State Senator Jeff Steinborn, the President of Film Las Cruces said Jones experience and deep roots in film industry will help Las Cruces continue its growth as a film production center. “Film Las Cruces is thrilled to have Amorette joining our team. Her broad experience and marketing savvy will be a tremendous asset in continuing to build our reputation as a top film making destination.”

Las Cruces has seen continued growth and notoriety in the film industry, being named among the top 10 “Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker” by MovieMaker Magazine. It recently

increased its film incentive to 40% as a part of new state legislation, making it one of the most competitive film production centers in the country. Recent film productions filmed in the region include Clint Eastwood’s “The Mule,” and the new Netflix fantasy adventure hit “Chupa.”

Jones joins an experienced team at Film Las Cruces that includes independent filmmaker and Deputy Film Liaison Andrew Jara.
