A major motion picture action movie will be filming in Las Cruces this week from October 24 through October 30.
Much of the filming will take place downtown and residents are encouraged to take note of the production schedule to avoid any inconvenience.
On October 26 and 27 from 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM, Las Cruces Ave. and Organ Ave. will be shut down, and traffic will be intermittently closed on N. Church St. going north and southbound during filming.
Filming on those days will take place at the Bank of the West. The scene will replicate a bank robbery and include a staged gun fight and a small car blast. In an effort to maintain the highest level of safety for cast, crew and community members, the production will not be using any type of live fire or blanks. The car blast is a small controlled propane explosion and there will be a fire truck on stand-by.
The film will also be casting up to 300 hundred local residents for paid non-speaking background acting roles. The background actors will be “all ethnicities, male and female, 18 – 65 years old, fit to average build. All selected background actors will be required to take a Covid test with the production prior to the work day on set. The production will coordinate and pay for the test. The job will pay $100 for an eight hour shift plus $30 compensation for taking the Covid test.”
Interested individuals should email a selfie and full body photo without filters, hats or sunglasses to lascrucesfilmcasting@gmail.com. They should write “General” in the subject line of the email, and include their name, phone number, age, sizes (weight, height, shoe size, waste size) and schedule availability. The film is looking for new people every day.
“We are very excited to have four major films, one documentary and one reality television show being shot in Doña Ana County over the next two months. This film will kick off a very exciting time of back to back major productions that will showcase our community, our unique locations, and our talented crew,” says Las Cruces Film Liaison Jon Sepp.
The film is working closely with Film Las Cruces and the City of Las Cruces
