The State of New Mexico has recently created a streamlined process in regards to the residency verification of New Mexican residents seeking employment on a film or television production. As part of the New Mexico Film/TV Tax Rebate program, productions must verify the residency of all NM crew members to be eligible to receive a 25%-30% tax rebate on their wages. The process was lengthy and created a hurdle for New Mexican crew members to get hired on set.
